Hello!
We are Women’s, Gender and Social Justice (WGSJ; formerly known as Women’s and Gender et Recherchés féministes).
Founded in 1982, we are a Canada-wide association devoted to social justice. We host a variety of in-person, virtual, and hybrid events throughout the year that cater to our commitment to feminist scholarship, art, and activism.
What we do
Annual Conference
Every year, we meet in person at our annual conference (at the Congress for the humanities and social sciences). We send out our CFP on our mailing list and to various academic programs in the fall of each year.
Professional Network
We are a hub for Canadian women’s and gender studies and social justice scholars, activists, and artists. We organize virtual workshops and talks throughout the year.
Coordinate
We keep in touch and coordinate with women’s and gender and social justice programs throughout Canada.
