“Why have Alberta’s PSIs shifted from “Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” to “Community and Belonging”? And what does this change mean within the broader context of a growing backlash against EDI in Canada and the United States?
Dr. Shirely Tate (Professor of Sociology, Canada Research Chair Tier 1 Feminism and Intersectionality, University of Alberta) will offer a 45-minute lecture on the current EDI landscape in Alberta. This lecture will be followed by Q&A and a roundtable discussion with authors from the collection Unmasking Academia: Institutional Inequities Laid Bare During COVID-19. In this roundtable, scholars will connect their reflections and insights from this edited collection to the current EDI landscape.
