Since 1975, Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture and Social Justice has published scholarly work in intersectional gender studies. The journal is gold-standard open access and is published on the Open Journal System platform by Mount Saint Vincent University. Atlantis is an English-language journal that publishes two-three issues per calendar year.

We are currently seeking new members to join our Editorial Board.

Atlantis acknowledges the historical and ongoing inequity at all stages of academic publishing. We are committed to addressing this issue through our editorial practices and the scholarship published in the journal. We invite applications and inquiries from all scholars in Women’s and Gender Studies and related fields. In particular, we welcome applications from scholars working in Critical Race Studies, Critical Indigenous Studies, Transnational Feminist Studies, Critical Disability Studies or, more generally, whose research focuses on dismantling hierarchies and exclusions based on racism, sexism, colonialism and/or ableism.
